I try not to miss a Tuesday lunch at Mary Ann's since that is their day for chicken livers and they are always excellent! I usually have them with some mashed potatoes & gravy, some corn & field peas. And I don't want to miss their desserts for only 25 cents more! Usually some very good cobblers! I always take family and friends who are visiting in town to have a GREAT meal at very reasonable prices. ABE

It's between 3 and 4 stars but I'll be generous because the servers were fun and nice. The place was packed for lunch pretty much through closing at 2pm. All appeared to be locals, mostly older folks that want a meal the way mama used to make it. Iced tea was good and strong.

The meatloaf was very moist, tasty and generously apportioned. The fried porkchop was room temp, overcooked and very dry. Fried catfish was not bad but pretty thin and could have been hotter. Might be best to get here early while the food is hot.

Creamed corn was great, good mashed potatoes, but the brown gravy tasted like it came from a can as did the peas and green beans. Get the white gravy, NOT the brown. Butter beans were good but they come in a cup with a lot of juice. Corn bread was not bad, homemade, very dense. The hush puppies tasted like fermented cornmeal.

Apple cobbler was very good, not overly sweet. Coconut pie topped with sweet meringue was pretty good, and fresh-brewed  hot coffee was great. My friends said breakfast was great last time they came. So there you go. I'd say come on the early side of lunch if you want your porkchop hot and avoid the veggies that come in cans like green beans and peas. Also try the white gravy instead of the brown stuff.

Delicious breakfast food, my only complaint is that I wish they stayed open later so I could come back for dinner!

Mary Ann's is a gem located in Jasper, GA. Open for breakfast and lunch with many delicious options. Bonnie served us well and could tell this restaurant is a regular stop for the community. Give Mary Ann's a try. You won't be disappointed!

The past few places I've eaten at lately have served me instant mashed potatoes and this place was no different. I'm getting tired of telling folks the ice tea and corn bread is great cause it was here too but the food....all canned with a generous amount of bacon grease. I love to use bacon grease to help season food but after eating lunch here today I felt like a well lubed automobile. Doesn't anyone peel a potato anymore?

I gave this place 3 stars just because the staff was friendly and the service was quick. I had the Steak & Onions, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn bread and sweet tea. Its about 12 hours later and I'm still buzzing from the sugar rush. The tea is good and they have real lemon. Also had a side of their stewed cabbage and found it pretty much cooked to mush.

The other item at the table was Pot Roast. It tasted OK, something my mother would cook. The gravy had a commercial flavor about it. Did I mention my Mother wasn't the greatest cook?

The prices were not alarming so I'd probably venture back in for some cornbread and tea.
